[video/action for goldenrod] Chapter 2;
Jun. 6th, 2015 08:33 pm[It's around sunset when Ringabel starts the feed, and it seems he's seated himself at one of Goldenrod's little coffee shops. Sawsbuck's, to be precise. He's joined by a dozing vulpix and a rather grumpy looking Bisharp who glowers at the screen, utterly unamused.
Ringabel pays him no mind.
Instead, he takes a quick sip of his coffee and reclines in his chair.]
It's been roughly three months since my arrival. While that pales in comparison to some of you, it's the longest time I've spent in any one location since I first woke up in Caldisla. You see, prior to my arrival, I was caught in the midst of a worldwide crisis. Darkness threatened to devour the entire world, and my friends and I sought to purge said darkness.
[This may seem like wild conjecture, but there is a point to it.]
The point being, we'd faced a great deal of conflict, always moving from one place to another. We'd made enemies of a powerful country, so the peace here is... staggering, to be honest. After all, this is a world where anyone can command an army of powerful creatures with tremendous skills. While I'm aware of a certain criminal organization, it seems they've done little during my time here, and the people live their daily lives without a care in the world.
Don't get me wrong, it's been a refreshing change, but it almost seems too simple. Perhaps it's simply my ignorance to the workings of this world, and those of you who have lived here for years are more than welcome to correct me if so. I just find it such a perplexing state of affairs. A world where we're expected to train and battle monsters, yet can't even wield a sword and shield to stave off those very same creatures...
[He takes another sip, then looks up at the sky.]
Perhaps it's time I began exploring the rest of this land. Are there any places you'd recommend?
[A stationary life just doesn't suit him, and he's already gotten his bearings.]
